Woman, 63, dragged along the floor by cyclist in east Hull attack

A woman was dragged along the ground in east Hull when a robber on a bike tried to steal her handbag.

The 62-year-old woman was walking along May Tree Avenue, east Hull, at 10am on Thursday morning when a man on a bicycle grabbed her handbag, leaving the victim trailing along the floor as she clung on to her possessions.

The woman sustained injuries to her head, thigh, shin, feet and hands.

The Radley handbag was eventually stolen, which included the woman’s purse, mobile phone, keys and make-up.

Humberside Police are now urging people with any information about the attack to come forward. A spokesman for the force said: “A woman has sustained injuries to her head, thigh, shin, feet and hands following an alleged robbery on May Tree Avenue, Hull this morning 5 July 2018.

“She was walking along the road around 10am when a man riding a bicycle came up behind her and grabbed her handbag. As she hung on to it, the woman fell over and was dragged along the floor by the suspect.

“She was taken to hospital for treatment.

“The man has been described as white, about 30-35 years old, skinny and around 5 feet 8. He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit and baseball cap and rode off towards James Reckitt Avenue.
