Hull has been voted as one of the best alternative cities for a night out on a budget in the UK.
My Voucher Codes recently conducted research into 50 towns and cities across Great Britain, revealing the best alternative cities for a night out.
Using research based on safety, drinks costs, hotels, taxi fares and the amount of bars and clubs, Hull has come out eighth best.
A spokesman for My Voucher Codes said: “Whether you’re planning a night out with the girls, a stag do in the city, or a big birthday bash, why not try somewhere new?
“If you’re looking for cheap cocktails, reasonable taxi fares and a good deal on hotels, a weekend away doesn’t have to set you back.
“Check out our alternative cities for a big night out, and spend less time queuing, and more time boogying.
“There are plenty of other options where you can have an amazing evening without breaking the bank or battling the crowds.”
Hull was voted eighth in the list of 50 destinations, with Swansea, Northampton, Derby, Middlesborough, Nottingham, Coventry and Stoke taking the first to seventh spots.
Wolverhampton and Huddersfield took ninth and tenth place respectively. Hull was awarded 55.04 in the safety index Score, with the higher scores suggesting a safer city.
The average pint costs £3 and a gin and tonic £2.70. It was found the average initial taxi fare cost £3.50, hotel rooms cost £58 and the average meal came to just £10.
The city was also found to have 55.92 bars and clubs per 100,000 people, with the higher the number the better your chances of getting served quickly at the bar.
