It has been a cold week across Hull and East Yorkshire with a biting wind blowing through the area but that looks set to change according to the latest forecasts.
The weather of the last week will have left many feeling they do not want to venture outdoors but the weekend predictions have given them cause for optimism.
Usually, at this time of year, temperatures are between 2 and 4C but this week, it will be 6C above normal – with highs of 11C expected for Friday.
Both Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be fine and dry in our neck of the woods, with some rain only expected in on Saturday morning.
Highs of 8C are expected for the first half of the weekend before temperatures rises again to 10C on Sunday.
Despite the slight warming we are expecting over the next few days, the winds are not expected to leave us, according to The Weather Channel.
A spokesman said: “Temperatures will be slightly above-normal on Friday with highs of 11C in southern regions and 10C further north.
“Winds will be light feeding in patchy light rain for the north and west of the country. However they could strengthen to gale force in some areas as the weekend progresses.
“Less-cold conditions will spread further south during Saturday before temperatures peak on Sunday with values in double figures – between 3C to 6C above-average for the time of year.
“A gradual cooler trend is then expected across Europe through next week as colder air from the north is drawn into the flow across the continent.”
However, the warmer weather is not expected to stick around. Early next week, the skies are expected to clear, driving the temperature down towards 4C or 5C.
