Spine have to perform with conviction for Hull KR to overcome Leeds Rhinos

Hull KR coach Tim Sheens looks likely to have some injured stars back to face Leeds after a weekend off playing.

Without doubt, the break came at a good time, given the returning players and the journey to and from Toronto.

Coming back into contention for Rovers are Maurice Blair, Justin Carney, Todd Carney, Lee Jewitt and, most importantly, skipper Shaun Lunt.

Sheens has some headaches regarding who of the five listed starts, plays or doesn’t play given the solid performance over in Canada.

These headaches are certainly the ones Sheens wants at this stage of any season mind you so I’m sure he is relishing the task of picking the team and to see his players deliver the qualities they possess.

All five will unquestionably be in the thoughts to return to the team, as they are all quality.

I suppose I, like many, will be interested in the selection of the half-backs.

Does Todd Carney come straight back into the team? Does he come onto the bench? Or does he miss out altogether?

In hindsight the result will dictate whether or not Sheens made the right call on this selection, which will be scrutinised by everyone.

Whichever way Sheens goes with the selection of his half-backs and bench, the result and performance of these players particularly will be put under the microscope.
