Worrying footage has emerged of a man trying car doors in the middle of the night in part of west Hull.
CCTV footage caught the man on a push bike approaching cars, that were parked up on residents’ drives at the time, and testing to see whether they had been left unlocked.
The video, which was taken at 4.30am on Tuesday, shows a man wearing a black hoodie, blue tracksuit bottoms and a grey cap cycling up to four separate vehicles off Calvert Lane and trying his luck.
Thankfully, the owners had locked up before going into their homes for the night but it left one woman furious at what she had seen.
The woman, who did not want to be named, posted the footage on Facebook and said it’s not the first time that thieves have been seen operating in the area.
She said: “Absolute scum of the earth. Makes me sick. You work hard and you get p***** like this spending a good hour checking every car at 4.30am.
“We got burgled two years ago and late last year a bloke got his car stolen off his drive. It happens quite a lot and it gets reported to 101.”
The man is shown cycling between two cars that are parked on a driveway before stopping to test both doors.
After realising they are both locked, he backs away, cycles across to another neighbour’s drive and does the same thing again.
The CCTV footage has been shared almost 1,000 times on Facebook since it was posted on Tuesday evening.
