Nigel Adkins rings the changes as big guns return to face Sheffield Wednesday

Nigel Adkins has rung the changes for the return to Championship action, bringing back his star names to face Sheffield Wednesday.

The head coach made eight changes to face Millwall last Sunday in the FA Cup third round and he has made eight again this afternoon as the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Kamil Grosicki and Markus Henriksen return to the side.

More significantly the head coach has made just one change from the side that beat Bolton Wanderers 6-0 at the KCOM Stadium on New Year’s Day as Eric Lichaj drops to the bench.

Todd Kane, Chris Martin and Kevin Stewart have all done enough to keep their place in the side, while Fraizer Campbell is only fit enough for a spot on the bench after missing the last two league games with a hamstring problem.

David Milinkovic is named on the bench for the first time in the league game since the Tigers beat Rotherham United 3-2 in August.

The Hull City side: David Marshall; Todd Kane, Jordy de Wijs, Reece Burke, Stephen Kingsley; Kevin Stewart, Markus Henriksen; Jarrod Bowen, Evandro, Kamil Grosicki; Chris Martin

Subs: George Long, Eric Lichaj, Jon Toral, David Milinkovic, Dan Batty, Fraizer Campbell, Robbie McKenzie.
