A terrified resident has revealed his shock after watching armed police storm his street and point a gun at a man’s head.
Carl Dinan, 34, filmed from the window of his home after more than half a dozen armed police officers wearing jet black armour pointed their guns at a man as he walked out of a house in Sewerby Road, Bridlington.
The man, who can be seen wearing a biker’s helmet in the footage, follows the commands of the officers by walking towards them slowly before putting his hands on his head.
He is then told to get on his knees before they ask him to turn around. The video then cuts out but police have confirmed that a man was arrested at the scene and is now in custody.
Mr Dinan’s partner was getting ready for work when he noticed a number of police vehicles pull up outside a property in Sewerby Road.
He said: “My partner was getting ready for work and there were two armed officers in the back of the garden and just down the side of the alley there was a gentleman getting told to get out of the house.
“I am just up the road and my house backs onto that property.
“I have never seen anything like that before and it was quite a shock because it’s usually so quiet around here.”
Police were initially called out at 10.15am and remained on the scene for at least two and a half hours.
The road was closed between Priory Church and Watson’s Avenue and Humberside Police have since issued a statement confirming the arrest of a man at the scene.
A spokeswoman said: “We were called with reports of a disturbance on Sewerby Road, Bridlington shortly after 10.15am today, Wednesday, July 4.
“Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of affray, he remains in our custody at this time.”
