Liverpool’s Harry Wilson is aiming high this season after Hull City loan

Harry Wilson is aiming high this summer as he attempts to find a route into the thoughts of Jurgen Klopp ahead of the new Premier League season.

Wilson has made just one senior appearance for the Reds so far in his career, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup win over Plymouth Argyle in 2017.

However, the 21-year-old has built up quite a reputation after scoring seven goals during a brief loan spell at Hull City last season, pushing the Tigers away from the relegation zone, and he hopes that will stand him in good stead when it comes to earning a chance with his boyhood club.

Following his form in black and amber speculation has been mounting over where the winger will be plying his trade this season. Celtic, Rangers, City, Huddersfield Town and Fulham have all been linked with moves this summer and while Wilson may end up having to leave Anfield this season for gametime and to continue his development he is thinking of nothing but impressing in red.

“I enjoyed my loan spell but I’ve been looking forward to it all summer, coming back in and getting started again, starting the hard work,” he told liverpoolfc.com.

“Last year I was desperate to make an impact in pre-season but I picked up a little injury and that stopped me doing so.

“With the loan spell behind me, I’ve got a lot of confidence and belief that this season can be my season.

“I went out and got the minutes I needed, scored a few goals and helped Hull climb the table a bit. I really enjoyed that. Now I’m focusing on doing well in pre-season and hopefully getting into this team.”
