Leeds United could be set to miss out on Motherwell starlet Stuart McKinstry, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 16-year-old was on the verge of joining the Whites, with Leeds agreeing a deal worth £400,000, however, it seems Premier League Southampton have joined the race late.

Southampton have also agreed a fee with Motherwell and according to the report they are confident of landing the winger.

McKinstry is yet to make a senior appearance for the Well, but did feature on the bench in their 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock on Boxing Day.

Ipswich keen on Judge

Ipswich Town are reportedly in talks with Brentford to sign midfielder Alan Judge this month.

The midfielder has struggled for game time at Griffin Park this season, making just four starts in the Championship and as such could be allowed to leave by Thomas Frank as he approaches the final six months of his current deal.

The Tractor Boys remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, but have made five signings already this month, with Callum Elder, Will Keane, Collin Quaner, James Collins and Simon Dawkins all arriving.

West Brom eye midfielder

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made an approach to sign Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn this month.

The Baggies received a blow this week as Leicester City opted to recall prospect Harvey Barnes, leaving Darren Moore’s short of options and they are desperate to get a replacement through the door.

Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe has been linked, but according to the Daily Mirror, West Brom have made an approach for Woodburn, who spent the first half of the season on loan with Sheffield United before returning to Anfield.
