Lee Radford reveals Hull FC fought off NRL powerhouses to keep Sika Manu

Lee Radford says Hull FC fought off ‘genuine’ NRL interest to secure the services of Sika Manu for another year.

The Black and Whites tied Manu down to a one-year contract extension this evening in a big move for the club.

FC fans had been worried about potentially losing one of their most effective players but Manu has decided stay, something which Radford believes is a credit to the way the entire club has treated him since his arrival.

“It’s huge because when he has been on the field for us he has been phenomenal,” Radford told the Mail.

“He had some genuine NRL interest but chose to stay. And when I say NRL interest, I’m talking about powerhouses in the NRL.

“For him to choose to stay first and foremost is a pat on the back for the whole club on how we have looked after him and his family since they came here.”
