Inbetweeners Reunion will air on New Year’s Day

The air date for The Inbetweeners reunion has been announced – and it is a lot sooner than you think.

Will, Simon, Neil and Jay are getting back together for a two-hour special and it is going to hit your screens on New Year’s Day – which means if you have partied too hard over the Christmas and New Year’s period you can sit down and relax with some old friends without even having to leave your house.

The lads – played by Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley – are jumping back in the iconic, rubbish yellow Fiat to mark the 10th anniversary of the show, reports The Mirror.

The hit comedy show ran on E4 for three series from 2008 to 2010 and spawned two feature length films that saw them go on their first ever lads’ holiday and Australia to visit Jay on his gap year.

Most fans of the show have lost count of how many times they’ve rewatched the episodes but James Buckley recently revealed why he will never let his kids see the show.

He told Good Morning Britain that there will never come an age where he wants sons Harrison and Jude to watch the show.

The 31-year-old’s character got semi-naked, threw up multiple times and even masturbated on the show.

Speaking about his kids, he said: “I would never let them watch The Inbetweeners.

“It’s different for me as I’m supposed to be their dad. I don’t want them to see me behaving in that way. I already have very little respect from them to begin with and I don’t want to lose it completely.”

But Good Morning Britain presenter, Piers Morgan assured the actor that the internet is a “small world” and that they would almost certainly see clips online.
