Hull’s men are less like James Bond than anywhere else in the country

It’s official. Hull men are the “least likes James Bond” out of anywhere else in the country.

It has been revealed Daniel Craig will be facing the villains one last time as 007, and a replacement is currently being sought for the franchise.

Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t look like the next superspy will be hailing from Hull.

Bondnextdoor.com asked 750 women across 15 major UK cities to rate the menfolk out of 10 in several categories, including charm, gentlemanliness and handsomeness.

The ratings didn’t go well for Hull’s men, as they finished bottom in the overall rankings.

With a score of 4/10 for their gentlemanly streak – the lowest score of any city – it would seem Hull men need to up their game.

As if this was not enough, the ladies of Hull also voted the men of their city as being the least handsome of any of the 15 locations polled.

They also ranked last when it came to charm, with the women of the region awarding them an average score of just 4 out of 10 in this category.

Though it’s not all bad news for the male residents of Hull. They ranked eighth out of 15 cities in the flirtatiousness category.

They also came in at number 11 in terms of confidence, so they at least share a little something in common with Bond.

“While Hull’s male residents may have fared relatively well in relation to flirtatious and confidence, they’re propping up the rest when it comes their similarity to James Bond,” said Craig Hitchings, a spokesperson for the Bond Next Door study.

“Their female counterparts certainly feel as though they lack the good looks and charm of 007, while it appears as though they’re perceived as being far less gentlemanly too.”

“The results are more distressing when you compare them to best performing cities.

“Glasgow topped the overall tables with an average score of 6.89. This was closely followed by Manchester and Liverpool who achieved scores of 6.58 and 6.55 respectively. This compares to just 5.67 for Hull overall.”

Despite it’s poor showing in the survey, it may be that without Hull, there would be no Bond at all. Dusko Popov is said to have been Ian Fleming’s main inspiration for agent 007.

The Serbian double agent passed disinformation to Germany during World War Two while residing in the city and was deemed the best spy of his era.
