Hull City linked with a move for highly-rated Dundee defender Cameron Kerr

Hull City are reportedly interested in signing Dundee defender Cameron Kerr this summer.

With the season just over a month away the Tigers are desperately short of defensive numbers having seen a number of players leave the club this summer, namely Michael Dawson, Moses Odubajo and Max Clark.

To make matters worse, Nigel Adkins is without Chelsea trio Michael Hector, Fikayo Tomori and Ola Aina, who all returned to Stamford Bridge following the conclusion of last season.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise to see City linked with yet another defender, Dundee’s highly-rated right-back Kerr.

According to online football news outlet HITC, the Tigers are keen on a move for Kerr this summer and features highly on the club’s list of transfer targets.

Despite being just 22, Kerr has amassed over 100 league appearances in his career so far after making his first-team debut five years ago at Dens Park, before impressing on loan with Peterhead.

However, over the last two seasons Kerr has nailed down his place in the Dundee side, winning the club’s player and young player of the year award in 2016/17 and wearing the captain’s armband on a number of occasions last season as Dundee avoided relegation from the top flight.

According to the report, it is during this period Kerr caught the eye of the Tigers with the club making regular checks on the defender’s development over the last 12 months.

Kerr becomes the second Scottish-based player to be linked with a move to the KCOM Stadium over the last week, joining Motherwell’s Cedric Kipre, a player City have reportedly seen a bid rejected for.
