Hull City interested in re-signing Conor Townsend with Hakeeb Adelakun interest remaining

Hull City are exploring the possibility of resigning Conor Townsend – just two years on from allowing him to depart the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old joined Scunthorpe United following his release in January 2016, scoring four goals in 73 appearances.

Hessle native Townsend was sent on a number of loans after coming through the ranks at the KCOM Stadium, with Grimsby Town, Chesterfield and Dundee United all providing him with first-team experience.

But reports emerging today say Nigel Adkins wants to bring Townsend home for the 2018/19 campaign. The left-back is in the last year of his contract and the Iron are looking for £250,000 from the Tigers.

The Mail also report that City’s interest in Scunthorpe’s Hakeeb Adelakun remains, with the winger available for a nominal fee when his deal at Glanford Park expires at the end this month.
