Championship transfer news: QPR eye Premier League striking duo, Nottingham Forest strengthen

QPR eye forwards

QPR have opened talks with Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion in the hope of strengthening their attacking line in the loan window.

Nahki Wells and Tomer Hemed both find themselves down the pecking order at their respective Premier League clubs and according to West London Sport, the Rs are keen on both.

Steve McClaren has signed just one player this summer, with Toni Leistner arriving on a free transfer, but he will be hoping to utilise the loan window to make the necessary improvements to his team.

Forest sign defender

Nottingham Forest have announced the capture of West Ham United’s Sam Byram on loan.

The defender finds himself out of the picture at the London Stadium and has been given the green light to leave this summer in search of first-team football by new Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Byram becomes Aitor Karanka’s 13th summer signing as the Spaniard continues his overhaul of the Forest squad with Byram joining for the remainder of the campaign.

Preston lose winger

Preston North End have announced winger Daryl Horgan has joined Scottish Premiership side Hibernian on a permanent deal.

While the English transfer window closed on Thursday, the Scottish one remains open which allows players to continue moving north of the border until August 31.

Horgan has been with the Lilywhites since January 2017, having joined from Dundalk, but following the signings of Manchester City duo Brandon Barker and Lukas Nmecha, Horgan’s game time at Deepdale was set to be significantly limited.

As such, he has made the move to Easter Road for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
