Celtic keen on Hull City target and Liverpool winger Harry Wilson

Celtic have entered the race to sign Hull City target and Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, according to reports north of the border.

Wilson made a splash in his brief loan spell at the KCOM Stadium last season, scoring seven goals in 13 games to help propel the Tigers up the table and away from danger in the Championship before returning to Anfield in May.

As a result of his impressive form under Nigel Adkins, clubs are thought to be queuing up to bag the Welshman this summer, with Rangers, Huddersfield Town and Fulham all linked so far.

City haven’t given up hope of bringing Wilson back to East Yorkshire for another season, though, with Nigel Adkins keen to cash in on the positive relationship between the two clubs.

However, it seems the Tigers may face serious competition from Scottish champions Celtic, who according to the Scottish Sun have enquired about taking Wilson to Celtic Park this summer.

It is expected Wilson will spent most of pre-season with Liverpool after which he is expected to leave on loan in an effort to seal regular football and Brendan Rodgers is thought to keen on taking the 21-year-old from his former club.

Joining the Tigers with just nine senior appearances under his belt, Wilson wasted no time in impressing in black and amber, scoring against Nottingham Forest on his first start for the club.

Four more goals came throughout the campaign before Wilson scored a brace in the 5-5 draw with Bristol City to seal a point which saw Adkins’ side seal their spot in the Championship for at least another season.
